Why Read Swami Vivekananda and Sri Ramakrishna? Kishore (March 2005) Human is life is not easy to live. It is not a child's play (which we have enjoyed for good part of our early life). Life has to offer not only pleasure but receive good amount of pain. None of us have training during our education on how to face life when we encounter pain. Our education has been more directed towards knowledge and earning degrees. To have right attitude to life it is important to go through a higher education. Going through teachings of our spiritual masters provides us this education. When we start learning from spiritual masters, we receive resistance from our parents who maintain that spiriutality is for 'old' and not young. It is only after all the years have been wasted that one realizes importance of spiritual education. If you have already focused on spiritual education, it is a divine blessing to you. Reading Swami Vivekananda and Sri Ramakrishna provides a life long inspiration. Sri Ramakrishna said one should go through this learning before facing the hardships of life.
