National Youth Day Report

Visakhapatnam Vivekananda Yuva Mahamandal celebrated National Youth Day on 12.01.2002 (Saturday) at Konatala Complex, Narayana Coaching center premises, NAD Jn., Visakhapatnam.

The programme was started at 2PM with competitions for school and college students on Swami Vivekananda's  life and teachings. Later procession was conducted from NAD Junction to Baji junction.

Public meeting was started at 6 PM. The programme started with Mahanamandal Anthem and Swadeshi Mantra. Swami Achintyanandaji Maharaj of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama was the chief guest. Sri Rajakishore of Gayatri College was the guest speaker. Sri B.Pardha Saradhi, Rtd., teacher was also spoke on the occasion. The guests gave prizes for the winners.

After the meeting cultural programmes were given by Sri Vidya Sisters (vocal recital, Devotional songs) and Bharata Natyam by Bharani Geetha Nrusthya Mandili.

Attendance for the programme was about 150.

Swami Vivekananda's Birthday celebrations
(Special function on 03.02.2002)


On 03.02.2002 (Sunday), Swami Vivekananda's Birthday was celebrated at Andhra University Engg. College hostels, 4th Block reading room. From 10 A.M. to 12 Noon.

Sri Pannala Syama Sundara Murthy, Convener, Ramakrishna Vivekananda Bhava Prachara Parishad, A.P. and Associate Director of Research, Regional Agricultural Research Station, Chintapalle, Visakhapatnam District was the guest speaker. He gave an inspiring speech on Vivekananda's Message to the Youth of India. Participants paid apt attention to his speech.

Question and Answer session was also held.

Memento to Sri. P.Syama Sundara Murthy presented by Dr. Rama Raju.

Vivekananda, His Call to the Nation books presented by guest speaker to the participants.

Attendance for the programmes was about 40.
