Day to Day to time management

This time I am sharing a few day to day tips.

1. Not everyday is same.

One day we are very efficient. Every task we take up gets done. Even though we have 10 items on our to do list, they all go out of the list very easily.

Another day we are stuck. Any task we take up gets stuck. We hit a hurdle and we cannot proceed. End of day, we end up frustrated.

When we encounter such a day, it becomes very frustrating. We get depressed and it may even force us to abandon making a to do list and time management

It happened to me many times. It happens to every one of us. Take it in your stride.

2. Don't over schedule the day

Don't cram your day. Though we may work for 8 hours a day, our effective time at work can be around 6 hours. So don't schedule too many tasks for the day.

Recently I was reading a book called "Slack: Getting Past Burnout, and the Myth of Total Efficiency". This book basically suggests that by making sure we are not over loaded, we can be more efficient. We also get chance to do things that come up unplanned.

It is true. By ensuring we have enough time to do things which make us Excel in our job, we can grow in our career. If we are constantly over loaded we will be stuck with our routine jobs.

3. Encourage Planning/Effectiveness in your team and company

It is not just enough we follow good time management practices. Encourage your team members to follow similar methods. Share your tips and experiences with others. By making your team and colleagues also plan their day, we can make it easy for team members as well as ourselves.

Use new versions of tools, spend time to learn tips and tricks from the tools at work and home.
