Start your day on a positive note I try to get my day to a positive start by accomplishing couple of important tasks which I might have been putting off for sometime. One of the problems when we keep postponing tasks that need to be done is we keep getting the 'guilt' feeling that we are shirking our responsibilities. This guilt bring in stress and fills us with negative feelings. To bring in positive energy into your day, do a task that you have been putting off for quite some as first task in the morning. e.g. your work desk is messy and one day you decided to make some time and clean it up. Though you decided to do, you never managed to get around it to it, because you have always been tied with up with so many tasks. And every time you take a look at your desk you are 'reminded' that you didn't complete a task. Because of this your stress increases. You feel you are getting overwhelmed with too many things to do. You start feeling guilty and start blaming yourself that you are always 'behind' in the tasks you need to complete. Then one day after you reach office instead of getting started with your e-mail, take couple of minutes to clean up the desk. Once you complete this task which most probably will take less than 5 minutes of your day, you feel a sense of accomplishment. You feel you have achieved a task by taking a positive step and that positive energy remains through the day and you may find yourself completing some other tough tasks. There may be some other examples in your life where you have been thinking of doing something and you never got around to it. It may be overdue phone call, sending a birthday greeting to friend without forgetting or something else. Think of things that make you feel positive. Add at least one such task to your daily routine. I am sure when you start a day in this manner you are likely to accomplish more in that day. A Happy life consists of many happy days. So make each day count in your life. |
