Arrange Your favorite Internet Links Have you ever become frustrated by loosing/forgetting an important link to a website which you want to access quickly and end up spending lot of time locating it? "When we are organized, we are less stressed" Managing internet links has been a problem for me. Especially when I started using more than one computer, it became trickier. If you have similar problem, The following are two ways you can make it easy. 1. Using Yahoo Companion Toolbar: Since I have yahoo account, I have installed Yahoo Companion toolbar. Yahoo Companion toolbar has a feature of storing bookmarks. Bookmarks can be organized in groups and adding bookmarks is quite easy. (Easier than adding a link to Internet Explorer -> Add Favorites command). You can install this from http://companion.yahoo.com Advantages of this are: A bookmark I add at office is readily available at home without have to search for the same again and vice versa. I have not lost bookmarks in last few years and I am not frustrated any time and feel organized and any time one of my friends asks for a link I can locate it within seconds. 2. Import and Export Favorites using Internet Explorer: This is another way you can manage your Favorites if you don't use Yahoo Account. You can keep adding favorites to to Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer has the option of Exporting and Importing Favorites. Select Internet Explorer, File -> Import and Export Option and export favorites as HTML file. On the other computer you use, import these favorites. Any better ideas? Do let us know, if you found any other way to make this simple. Another tip: Did you know that if you want to visit any site which has pattern of www.<sitename>.com, instead of typing entire site address in Internet Explorer Address bar, type just the sitename and press CTRL + Enter. www and com will be added to the address you typed and the site will be opened. e.g. you want to visit www.cskishore.com enter cskishore in address bar and select CTRL + Enter. Voila! you know what happens. |
