Make a worthy investment in what you need most

This week's Tip:

Invest enough money in tools or training that will help you in your time management.

Action items:

As we continue to grapple with our priorities and time management problems, remember that there are businesses and people out there who are willing to help us. They know that these problems are common and by selling us the right tools and solutions we need. I consider any money you spend toward such training or tool is a worthy investment.

I spent around $45 to purchase my planner sheets and I do not consider this an expense but a very good investment. I used to spend almost same money in Indian rupees also for my planner and I never hesitated to spend the money. The training I attended which helped me get onto better time management was a company sponsored training. I am lucky that it happened otherwise personally I would not have spent the money to attend a training on time management. I thanked my manager for making me attend this training and my HR team for conducting this workshop.

So my strong advice is If you have not attended any time management seminar, I suggest you to invest and am sure that investment will pay you back in no time. Any amount of advice I may write will not equal the wisdom you will gain in such practical workshops. I have talked to couple of people who attended such seminars and they are glad that they did and acknowledge that it has made a big difference in their life.

Resources you can try:

Visit www.franklincovey.com which lists workshops they conduct. If you have not attended any seminar, I would recommend you to attend one. Find a workshop nearer to you.

You can also find other organizations which might conduct such workshop at a place near your place of stay. You may not be aware of them.

If you are not comfortable with a planner (paper based) and are always more comfortable in using software for managing your schedule, try this software which costs around $20. Click on this link http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000059Z6B/qid=1030324344/sr=2-2/ref=sr_2_2/104-0115103-4048760 . This Organize quick and easy software does something similar to a planner. It has the same approach of a page a day. I installed this from a CD one of my colleagues had and took a quick look it for its features. It allows you add tasks to any day and opens current day at any time. And print your schedule whenever you want.

My father always used to say one thing: Education is an investment and not an expense. And you can never calculate return on investment for this. Because returns are BEYOND measurement and comparison. I would say the same to this investment I am suggesting.

Caution: This investment needs to be followed up with appropriate action so that you get the benefit. Even after paying lot of fee and going to college, if you don't study and appear for exams, your investment will be a waste.

Summary

Attend a training or workshop that will help you stay motivated and progress in your life's journey.
