Movie Review: Chirunavvuto (Telugu movie)

I liked this simple movie Chirunavvuto (meaning: With a smile) for various reasons. The movie made me feel good and realize a few simple truths. I wanted to share those good things in this review.

This movie is story of Venu whose marriage is cancelled as bride runs away because he is a cook. He goes to town to get job. His philosophy of facing life is quite simple: take every event in life with a smile. He meets a girl and falls in love with her. But the girl gets engaged to another person. Despite her getting engaged he conveys his love. Rest of movie involves how the girl realizes Venu's love is true and he is a good person and finally agrees to marry him.

Powerful thoughts in the movie are:

• Don't let bad events spoil your life: Venu does not feel worried when his marriage is cancelled. If something bad happens, let it happen but don't let it bother you for rest of your life.
• Face success or defeat with a smile. When Venu looses an interview he still comes out with a smile. He does not let a failure spoil his happiness.
• Welcome everyone with love even if it is someone who denied you: When the ex-bride comes back in trouble he welcomes her and does not mistreat her like others do.
• Don't marry someone out of pity:  The suggestion to marry the ex-bride is rejected by Venu saying that you don't marry someone out of pity or compassion. Both of them will feel bad if a marriage happens not because of love but compassion.
• Don't worry about what others say: Family members scold the ex-bride for running away and say that they will be 'laughed at' if they return with unwed daughter. To this the thought given was "no one in society has so much time to worry about pride of every family and it is not important as national flag". This thought conveys the strong emotion that every one carries with them, what will society think when so and so happens. Don't care about what society thinks as long as you know what you are doing.

Along with the above simple thoughts, comedy situations in the movie make the movie worth watching and enjoying. Watch the movie with a smile. :-)
