I have already stated in my
previous experiences that having a driving license is very important in US. We
got admissions for our daughter in a school that is around 1.5 miles distance.
It is not a walking distance. We got admission in month of April and school
starts in June. School timings are from 8.30 to 2.30 pm. I can definitely drop
my daughter at school in morning, but to pick up my daughter my wife has to
learn driving.
This initiated the process of
securing driving license for my wife in a very short time. And everything
happened with blessings of Guruji and Lord Hanuman. Preparing for written test was a few weeks process which my wife
went through and cleared the exams too in first attempt. She was confident of
written test. But she was worried a lot about driving on the roads. Unlike me
she has never driven before even two wheeler back in India. She was worried
about facing the traffic. I told her that with blessings of Guruji she will
clear the test and will be able to drive confidently without any problem by the
time my daughter’s schools opens.
For 5 consecutive weeks she
attended driving classes every weekend. During weekdays I helped to get more
practice with night practice that started after 10 pm and went on for about
half an hour. During the entire learning process Anu was somewhat nervous and
she also used to pray before taking the next class for more confidence.
With firm FAITH in her ability and
Lord’s Grace I encouraged her throughout this period though she made occasional
mistakes. As the date for driving test approached she was restless and getting
more and more nervous which was natural. It is fear of failure that we all
suffer from many times and this was one of the ‘test of will’ she had endure.
On the day of test, she went early
in the morning for practice. She made simple mistakes during practice because
of her nervousness. One can imagine the mental state of my wife when she went
for test. She was very worked up. A few minutes before taking test, she called
me at home and I reiterated that she would clear the test without problem and asked
to her to have FAITH in Lord’s Grace. I also prayed to God meanwhile to help
her.
God never disappoints his devotees
and my faith and trust were confirmed when my wife called up after an hour to
announce that she cleared the test and is getting her driving license. Not only
she perform well during test when the examiner commented that road conditions
are not good because of road construction, but got a “very good drive”
certificate from the examiner. She could not believe the result.
I consider everything happened due
to Grace of god for following reasons
Anu (my wife) was not at all
confident when she started;
She secured the driving license within 6 months of coming to US driven by need which many in her ‘group of friends’ called a major achievement;
She not only cleared the exams but
went through lot of emotional stress which was put to an end God grace of God;
During the entire period I never
had any doubt about her success because of my firm faith. I do believe God listens
to our prayers and answers them when the need is genuine.
