Two
weeks into the new apartment after coming to US, I faced a problem of having to
commute by bus to reach office. I found a few colleagues do carpool (carpool:
a few people traveling together avoid each having to drive one vehicle each)
from Fremont City to office every day. All the other members of Car pool stay
around 5 miles away from my house. To be able to join car pool team I decided I
have to take bus everyday morning and meet them. I took bus route and maps and
was mentally getting prepared during weekend for bus journey.
On
Monday I woke up to find that it started raining. Without an umbrella I can’t
even step outside. Going to Bus stop which is almost half a mile away in the
rain and catching a bus seemed impossible. I did not know what to do. As I was
wondering what to do, I thought of asking help from a neighbor. I was feeling
uneasy but I had no option. I went and asked my neighbor who happened to move
into their apartment just a few days before we moved in. However, he had been
in US for quite sometime and has a car which he uses. When I sought help he
agreed to drop me to my carpool place. It happened very conveniently that his
office is in the same direction and he didn’t have to take extra efforts to
drop me off. He also offered the ride for next few weeks and I was glad to
accept the offer that eliminates bus rides with lot of time needed for the
same.
Rain
made me seek a help and made it a lot more convenient for me during next two
weeks.
What
makes it surprising is that he moved into our apartment complex just a few days
before and he also extended lot of help to us in settling down. Not only the
car rides, I also took help to do some shopping and other kinds of help. He was
glad to help without minding our interference. He offered ride even when he was
not going to office. He moved out of the apartment after a few months and went
back to India.
Again I felt it was not just a
real coincidence that someone is ‘planted’ there for our help in our times of
need. It is divine intervention that set things in place and it is Lord’s Grace
in a human form that helped us
