Experience 9: Buying a Car

As you already know Car is an essential item a comfortable living in US. Buying a car means lot of investment. For a newcomer like me where I don’t have credit history because I am new to US, getting a decent loan for buying a car would be a tough task. Even If I get a loan it would be a high interest rate of 13% or above.

But the way I got my car and the deal at which I got is again a divine blessing.

I was not sure how to start on car buying process. Then couple of colleagues suggested that a person in office is selling his car. I didn’t give much thought to it. But later I thought about and took it as a divine guidance and approached the person (Mr. Suresh) who was selling the car.

It turned out to be a car in good running condition and less mileage. I told Suresh that I would be buying car but I need to take a loan. The car is priced at $ 9000 in the market. He initially said he would give it to me $ 8000 whereas I was thinking I should bargain for a price of $8500. He said he wants to help me.

When we reached the final stages of the purchase, he said he would give it to me at $7000. He got the car inspected, cleaned and everything done before he handed over the same to me. He said I don’t need to take a loan and I can just pay him in monthly installments. That was a complete surprise to me. I don’t have to pay interest and worry about clearing a loan. It sure was a divine inspiration in him that prompted him to help me in all the ways he can.

Do you call it luck? Or divine grace? I got a car at a price much lower than market price, in very good condition and also without having to take a loan.

Generally one would make lot of inquiries and efforts before finalizing such high price deals. But the moment I came to know about the car, I somehow got a feeling that Lord made a complete arrangement for me. No doubt entered my mind at any point and the whole deal was a smooth process.
