Spiritual Experiences Part- 23: Test of Faith
|
Kishore (January 2003) God tests our ability to understand his teachings and preparedness for spiritual life. A few months back I was divinely guided to read a simple book "There is a spiritual solution to every problem" by Wayne Dyer This book explained what qualities a spiritual person should have. I read this and found it very motivating and felt that I should maintain the qualities a spiritual person should have. But we all know it is easier said than one. A few weeks I had an experience which tested my understanding. I wanted to share this experience. I went out on work and went to Bank ATM center to take some money. I had another work immediately after and I immediately set out to another place. Once I reached that place I realized that in my preoccupation I left my ATM card in the ATM machine and I just walked away without taking it out. I was thinking about something and I took money started counting money and walked away immediately. I just don't know how it happened. It all happened within seconds. And it was 15 minutes later that I realized that I left my ATM card. It looks a simple matter now, but at that time, I went into panic. I didn't know what to do. I immediately went back to ATM counter. Wandered around the counter to see whether I dropped my card or someone found the card and gave it to anyone there. I was out of mind. I just didn't know what to do. I called my bank immediately and reported loss my card. Bank representative told me that no extra money has been taken from my account and then only I regained my mental calmness. I was hoping some miracle to occur and automatically find my ATM card. Later I realized it was a test of God to test my faith and understanding of his teachings. I realized that I should keep in mind that any thing can happen in our life and not everything should go smooth. Only through faith and trust in God we should live our life. I wanted to share this experience with everyone. Jai Sriram, Jai Hanuman. |
