Green Chutney
Sweet and Sour Cabbage Chaat
Noodles Chaat
INGREDIENTS
2 cups green peas
2 green chillies
1 tomato
1 onion
1 tsp. cumin seed
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. amchur (dry mango powder)
1/2 tsp. red chilli powder
1 tsp. coriander powder
1/2 tsp. jeera powder (coriander powder)
Cumin seeds (roasted and powdered)
1 tbsp. roasted til
Fresh grated coconut.
METHOD:
Boil the peas in salted water. Remove the water, if any. Add chopped tomatoes, onions and green chillies.
Heat oil in a pan. Put coriander and cumin powders. Fry till brown. Remove from heat. Add all the other masala and the peas. Mix well. Add til and coconut.
Cooking time: 15 minutes.
Serves 2 persons.
MOONG TIKONE (GREEN GRAM CHAAT)
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups green gram dal (soaked)
2 green chillies
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. red chilli powder
1/2 tsp. aniseed
1tsp melted butter
Fresh green coriander
1 tsp. minced ginger
1/4 tsp. turmeric powder
1 cup curd
6 slices bread
METHOD: Mix all the ingredients thoroughly (except butter) in a mixer to get a solid paste.
Apply the butter on the sides of the bread slices. Place the paste evenly between the 2 slices and roast till brown in a heated sandwich maker/toaster.
Serve hot with curds, sauce or green chutney.

Serves 3
INGREDIENTS:
1-cup fresh coriander (chopped)
5-6 green chillies (chopped)
1-tsp. cumin seeds
1 tsp. amchur powder
1 tsp. salt
1 onion (small) chopped
3-4 flakes of garlic
METHOD: put all the ingredients in a grinder. Run the grinder. Store the green chutney in a jar.
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups chopped cabbage
a few mint leaves
2 green chillies (chopped)
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 tbsp. honey
1 tbsp. vinegar
1/2 tsp. mustard powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. oil
1 orange
1/2 tsp. black pepper.
METHOD: heat oil in a pan. Put mustard powder and remove from gas. Add all the other ingredients to it.
Keep covered for 20-25 minutes. Cook for 10 minutes.
Decorate with finely sliced orange flakes after removing their skin.
Cooking time: 45 minutes
Serves 2 persons.
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup broken fried noodles (flat)
1 boiled potato
1 onion
1 tomato
1/2 cup finely chopped cabbage
2 tbsp. Boiled peas
2 tbsp. Vinegar
1/2 tsp. Salt
2 green chillies
1 tbsp. Green chutney
1 tbsp. Sauce
1/2 tsp. Black pepper
METHOD: chop onion, potato tomato, green chillies and coriander leaves.
Mix all the ingredients except noodles. They will be mixed just before serving. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Serves 2-3 persons.
